Showing Hidden Files and Folders on Windows 8

1. View the Windows 8 Desktop
Click the Desktop tile on the Windows 8 start screen to view the windows desktop. See the image below.
2. Right Click on the Mini Start Screen
Do this by moving your mouse to the lower left corner of the Windows 8 desktop. When your mouse is in the correct spot the mini start menu will appear. At this point RIGHT CLICK your mouse and the menu shown in the image below will appear. Click on the Control Panel option.
3. View the Folder Options Applet
When the control panel is visible (see image below) click on the Folder Options option.
4. Click the View Tab
You’ll now be looking at the Folder Options screen (see the image below). Click the View tab.
5. Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives
You’re now viewing the Windows 8 folder options. You’ll see a long list of check boxes and option selectors. Click on the Hidden files and folders icon and then click the Show hidden files, folders, and drives option selector. When clicked correctly the screen should look like the screen shot below.
6. Save the Changes
Click the Apply button to save the changes to your windows settings and the OK button to close the folder options window. Close the control panel window too. You’ll now be able to view Hidden Files and Folders in Windows 8.
